English When warm weather arrives during the spring and summer, we're not always ready for it.

Of course, the best thing to do is to prevent sunburn. But if you're unlucky enough to get burned, here are a few of the best treatments recommended by doctors.

But first, get out of the sun.

Cover your burned skin.

The sun has already damaged your skin, so it's important that you prevent any more damage by covering the burned area - and as much of your skin as you can - with comfortable clothes.

And keep wearing sunscreen if you have to go outside again!

Cool baths and showers.

You may want to cool your skin to take away that burining feeling. So take a cool shower or bath, trying not to wash the burned area with soaps that could irritate your skin even more.

Use lotion.
There are lots of after-sun lotions avaiable - you might like to try one with aloe vera, which is good for soothing your skin.

You should also try not to scratch your sunburn - this could damage the new skin growing there.

Drink lots of water
We need to drink a lot whe we're in the sun anyway, but a sunburn will take fluid to your skin and away from the rest of your body, so you will need to drink more than usual.
But don't drink alcol to get your fluid back - this could make things worse.

Pills for the pain

You might also ask for advice at the pharmarcy. Medicines like Tylenol and ibuprofen can help with pain. But if you think your burns are more serious, you may need to see a doctor.

Now go find that sun screen
